How to Add DNS Records in cPanel

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

Use your domain’s cPanel URL (usually yourdomain.com/cpanel) and log in.

Step 2: Open Zone Editor

Inside cPanel, scroll to the Domains section and click Zone Editor.

Step 3: Choose Your Domain

You will see a list of domains. Click Manage next to the domain where you want to add DNS records.

Step 4: Add a New DNS Record

At the top-right, click Add Record or choose the specific type:

  • Add A Record

  • Add CNAME Record

  • Add MX Record

  • Add TXT Record

  • Add SRV Record

  • Add AAAA Record

Step 5: Enter the Record Details

Depending on the record type:

A Record

  • Name: @ or your subdomain

  • Address: Your server IP

  • TTL: Auto or 300

CNAME Record

  • Name: e.g., www

  • CNAME: e.g., yourdomain.com

TXT Record

  • Name: @

  • Record: e.g., SPF, DKIM, verification codes

MX Record

  • Priority: e.g., 10

  • Destination: mail server hostname

Step 6: Save the Record

Click Save Record.

Step 7: Wait for DNS Propagation

Changes usually take 5–30 minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours globally.
